Study Abroad

Developing a Global Perspective is one of the four foundations of the Honors College, and to this end the College supports students who study abroad through assistance in applying for nationally competitive scholarships for study abroad trips and by offering a competitive Honors Study Abroad Scholarship.

Students are encouraged to research the resources that can make study abroad a possibility.  Click on the links below to learn more about potential funding opportunities.

Study Abroad in Ireland!

We are pleased to announce the return of an Honors College-sponsored study abroad trip to Ireland. The Wexford-Savannah Inquiry Study Abroad Program will take place during Term A in summer 2022.

This trip will be led by Dr. Francis Desiderio (Honors College) and Dr. Howard Keeley (Center for Irish Research and Teaching). The class will spend one week conducting research in Savannah and the next four weeks in Ireland, primarily at Georgia Southern’s learning center in Wexford. The deadline for applications is February 25, 2022. Applications will be competitive as we can take only 14 students with us.

All details about the trip and the application can be found here:  https://www.irishgeorgia.com/inquiry22.
